From its humble origins in a rented shop along Cairns waterfront, Pro Dive Cairns has emerged as a trailblazer in the dive industry. This year, on August 23, 2023, the company proudly celebrates its 40th anniversary, a testament to its unwavering dedication to providing exceptional diving opportunities.
In its early years, Pro Dive Cairns pioneered an innovative approach to training, conducting pool sessions at a local backpacker hostel’s swimming pool and training dives at Lake Eacham on the Atherton Tablelands before culminating the experience with exploration of the iconic Great Barrier Reef.
Today, Pro Dive Cairns boasts a dynamic team of 55 local staff members who form the backbone of operations. The company operates a state-of-the-art PADI 5 Star Instructor Development Centre, manages three premier 24-meter liveaboard vessels for immersive 3-day / 2-night trips to the Outer Reefs off Cairns, and maintains a distinguished dive specialty retail store.
