RSTC US Reinstates Scuba Schools International (SSI) Membership Following Standards Alignment

The Recreational Scuba Training Council (RSTC) US and Scuba Schools International (SSI) are pleased to announce that SSI has updated their standards to meet RSTC minimum standards.  Following productive collaborative discussions, SSI’s applicable Assistant Instructor training standards are now fully aligned with RSTC standards, leading to the official reinstatement of SSI’s active status within the council.

“SSI is pleased to be back within the RSTC and values the important role the organization plays in promoting consistent, high-quality standards across the recreational diving industry. SSI has adjusted its standards to ensure full compliance with RSTC standards and looks forward to continuing to support the RSTC and its mission”, stated  Guido Waetzig SSI CEO.

RSTC US remains dedicated to its core mission of establishing and upholding consistent minimum safety and training standards across all member organizations. This reinstatement reinforces a shared commitment to diver safety, educational quality, and the continued growth of the global scuba diving community.

“Our goal has always been to ensure that all members operate under rigorous safety frameworks,” said RSTC US President, Sabatino Bianco. “Through open dialogue and joint effort, we have ensured complete alignment with SSI, strengthening our shared foundation for dive instruction.”
